Honey Mustard Conquests
Some time had past since the High Prince began his rebellion. What had started as a simple "No" turned into a country wide rebellion against the Dragon King and his Queen. While some headway was made by the High Prince, his siblings had turned against him, falling under the tyranny of their father. The Dragon King's treasures where vast, and his ability to buy back the loyalty of his offspring broke them from their rebellion. Still the eldest Prince held firm. His suffering only empowered him farther. His father's evil deeds must be brought to an end!
The time was right, this time the High Prince would win. The Queen of Night had prepared a dish of freshly slain poultry and fresh corn, in anticipation of the return of Dragon King. The fresh scent of crushed Mustard and the finest salts steamed out from the kitchen. The High Prince smelled the food and prepared his defenses. Today he would stand his ground and be victorious! Now was his chance to rally his siblings and turn them against their father!
Or so he thought! The Dragon King's villainy was unmatched, for during his journeys, the Dragon King had procured the finest of deserts in all the lands, the legendary smiley face cookies! The history of these powerful treats where known across the land, for a great many had suffered endlessly for a single bite of this delicacy! Still, the High Prince would stand his ground, for not even these treats would break his spirit.
Immediately the Princess of Dragons and the "Spare" Prince folded, giving in to the demands of their father. Their will was broken instantly once they gazed upon the legendary cookies. Before the High Prince even knew he had been betrayed, both his siblings had consumed their meals. The distaste on his face was obvious.
So the High Prince sat, his food sitting in front of him, building his defense. He decided his best course of action was to test his father. "Daddy?" the Prince began, "there are two different things on the plate. Three bites is all I have to take, right?" He said.
Already annoyed, the Dragon King frowned, "Three bites of the corn and the chicken!" The High Prince immediately regretted his decision. "But that's just not fair!" Cried the Prince. It was obvious already that the Dragon King had prepared himself for another battle, for he was a master of destruction, made King by his own hand. The High Prince continued to protest "I don't even like it, it's terrible!"
"How do you even know?" questioned the King, looking at the plate in front of the High Prince. "Unless your able to see into the future, you've not even tried a bite!"
"But it smells bad, I don't need to know what it tastes like!"
"Fine, don't eat it. Unfortunately I have to go and force other subjects to bow before me so I am unable to sit here and enjoy your misery. The Queen will have to enjoy that in my absence! You have until I return or I will feast on the cookie myself." The Dragon King mocked, a hideous grin on his face.
The Dragon King marched out from the banquet hall, adorning himself with the relics of war. The High Prince sat, dejected. The Queen of Night would not turn against the Dragon King, for even she recoiled from his wrath!
As the moon began her journey across the sky, the Dragon King returned to find the meal consumed. Not just the three bites as he intended, but the whole plate was cleaned. The Dragon King could only smile, for he was twice blessed with victory over his foes. The Queen of Night smirked towards him. "Your son finished his meal, though I had to feed it to him myself" she purred, "he ate it all and was rewarded with the smiley face cookie as our agreement."
The Dragon King laugh menacingly. Even if he had to be fed, the High Prince's rebellion was starting to falter and victory was close at hand!
