Quesadilla inspired Achievement!

Competition Induced Simplicity!

The time of year had finally come, the end of the lazy days of Summer, the end of milling about and doing whatever one wanted. The First sign of the season dying manifested itself with the start of the martial competition known throughout the land as soccer. The High Prince had finally reached an age where he could compete in such endeavors, and was excited to prove himself a worthy opponent. Also, or so he thought, he would be able to use these battles as an excuse to not eat his meals.

But he did not plan for his mother's ingenuity, for she foresaw these tests fast approaching, and had planned accordingly. Before setting forth from the great keep of the Dragon King, she prepared what she could beforehand, and tasked the servants with setting up things to be ready to cook when they arrived home. The plan was brilliant, but would it work? Only time would tell.

Upon arriving home, the Queen began the final preparations for the meal. One which she was sure the children would eat. Once finally completed, the meal was placed in front of the three, and their task was given to them. "Alight, you have thirty minutes" began the Dragon King tired from the day in the Sun. "Finish what is on your plate or you will get bathed, and go straight to bed." The High Prince could sense the King's desire for their failure in his tone.

"I know what this is" cheered the High Prince, a smile forming on his face. "I've ate these before, they're good."

"Alright then, prove it." The Dragon King goaded the prince.

Time passed, both the High Prince and the Princess of Dragons took tiny bites, testing the food to be sure. "Mother, can we not eat the edges? They're a little too crispy for my liking" asked the Prince, while the Princess nodded in agreement with her elder brother.

The Queen of Night felt that was a respectable request. She removed the minimal amount of the edges from the tortilla, just in case this was an attempt to have to eat less.

The Dragon King finished his meal first, and surveyed the situation. The children's' plate still had plenty of food on them, and the "Spare" Prince had given up, more interested in running around the banquet hall than eating more than the bare minimum. "Alright, listen. I am going to bathe the "Spare" Prince first. When he's done, one of you is next. You both have until I'm done to have those plates cleaned, or you will be going to bed immediately after bathing. Understood?"

Both the High Prince and the Princess of Dragons nodded in agreement. The Dragon King left the banquet hall with the "Spare" Prince in tow. It was now or never for the other siblings to consume their meals, or they would be heading to bed quite early this night!

Time continued to dance away. Little by little the meals were being consumed. Finally, the Dragon King returned from bathing the youngest, while the older two finished the final bites of dinner. "Have you finished your meals?" questioned the Dragon King, not able to see the plates from the bath house.

The Queen of Night spoke first. "Yes dear, they are consuming the final bites now."

"Excellent! Send the Princess up first, for it is time for her to bathe."

The Princess of Dragons smiled and pranced up to her bath. Her brother and her both defeated their father in this battle. For neither one of them would be going to bed early this night.

While his sister was being washed, the High Prince smiled defiantly towards his mother. "Mother! I liked this dinner. It was great! Thanks for making it!"

The Queen of Night smiled to herself, and to her son. "Excellent son, I am glad you enjoyed the meal!" For a brief moment, the Queen of Night allowed herself the hope that they had finally ended the food rebellon, and that her children would happily eat her cooking. How long would it last? Only time would tell...
