Those Aren't Noodles

Day three of the war waged on. The Spare Prince had yet to take a bite of the food that the Queen of Night had cooked. This night, because there was supposed to be soccer practice at the usual dinner time, the meal was a crock pot dish. It was Crock-Pot Chicken Alfredo Lasagna. This was the first dish that the High Prince actually ate in the initial War without any complaint and ate it faster than everyone else in the Kingdom. It had not been one made often simply because the hot summer did not seem like a good time to be eating this dish. But now with crazy soccer schedules, more crock pot meals have had to be made in order to ensure healthy dinners are ate.

Much to the Queen of Night's surprise, before it was even time for everyone to enjoy the meal, the Princess of Dragons ate two whole plates of the lasagna before anyone else had sat down at the table. She ate one plate and promptly asked for more spouting that she absolutely loved this dish. The High Prince got jealous of how quickly the Princess of Dragons had ate her meal that he decided to stop all other activities and eat his as well. He continued the trend with a record-breaking speed and finished his meal before the Queen of Night could even sit down.

All that was left was for the Dragon King and the Spare Prince to eat their meals. The Queen of Night ate hers while attempting to get the Spare Prince to sit at the table. He absolutely refused and ran away to play with his brother and sister. After some time the High Prince and the Princess of Dragons decided they wanted to play with their friends but the Queen of Night decided that no friends would be over until the Spare Prince ate his dinner. This really wasn't a punishment for the High Prince and the Princess of Dragons, even though they thought it was, but simply logically not possible. Having friends come over always involved the Queen of Night having to do more things for more people. Since she was completely tied down trying to get the Spare Prince to eat the meal, she simply could not help out with anybody else.

An hour passed by and the Spare Prince had yet to take a bite. The High Prince and the Princess of Dragons took to entertaining themselves by riding bikes outside. They knew that being inside would lead to them wanting to do activities that the Spare Prince could not be involved in. In order to keep the Queen happy, they entertained themselves. This activity actually pleased the queen quite a bit seeing as the Spare Prince and the Princess of Dragons continued to fight throughout every day. It was wonderful to see the High Prince and the Princess of Dragons getting along so well. She dreamed of the day when the Spare Prince would no longer fight with his siblings.

The crying stopped. There were no more tears from the Spare Prince. He had accepted his fate and simply sat in the chair staring at the food. Two hours went by. The Queen of Night did not yield again. She simply sat at the table and asked him to take bites from time to time. The High Prince and the Princess of Dragons each took turns trying to get him to take bites using whatever method they could dream up. Nothing seemed to shake his resolve.

Finally, the bedtime chimes rang through the air. The Spare Prince happily climbed the tower into his bed chamber knowing that he had once again bested the Queen. It would be almost 12 hours before he would have a chance to eat again, but apparently his stomach could handle what no one else's in the Kingdom could. The Queen tucked him in and said goodnight. With tears in her eyes she walked away hoping that tomorrow would be a better day.
